Dear Parent,
I know youâre busy.
Deadlines are calling. Notifications are non-stop. The world doesnât slow down. And in the middle of it all, your child comes to you with a simple request:
"Papa, can we play now?"
"Mumma, can I tell you something?"
And with the best of intentions, you reply â
"Just 10 more minutes, beta. Iâm working."
"Later, okay? Iâm in a meeting."
Youâre not wrong.
Youâre not careless.
Youâre trying your best to hold the world togetherâfor them.
But what if I told you⊠that those â10 more minutesâ are slowly teaching your child that you are not available?
đ What Your Child Feels (But Doesnât Say)
Children rarely say what theyâre feeling.
They donât say, âI miss you.â
They act it. Through silence. Tantrums. Distance. Disconnection.
When you postpone connection over and over, even lovingly, your childâs heart begins to shrink in your presence.
They stop asking. They stop trying. They retreat.
They arenât angry.
Theyâre hurt.
And sometimes⊠theyâre starting to believe that your work is more important than their words.
đ± But There Is Hope
You donât need to quit your job.
You donât need to give up your dreams.
All your child needs is your full presence â even if it's just for 20 minutes a day.
No phone.
No multitasking.
Just you. Eye contact. Listening. Laughing. Being there.
That daily commitment is not small.
It is everything to your child.
đĄ Here's What You Can Do:
â
Block 20 minutes daily: Name it "Our Time."
â
Let your child decide what to do in those minutes.
â
Be fully present â no devices, no distractions
â
End it with a hug, eye contact, and the words: âI love this time with you.â
This small habit will rebuild what the world tries to take away:
Your emotional bond. Their trust. Your connection.
đŹ From One Parent to AnotherâŠ
Youâre doing so much.
Youâre trying so hard.
But donât forget â your child didnât ask for a perfect parent.
They just want you.
Show up for them.
Not later. Not someday.
Today. Even if itâs just for a little while.
Because to them, you are the whole world.
